The boxing organization confirmed that Usyk had "elected to relinquish his title after thoughtful consideration"
Usyk still holds the WBA, WBC and IBF heavyweight titles, having beaten his British opponent at Wembley Stadium in the summer month to become a double undisputed champion
He first became the four-belt undisputed champion in spring 2024 by defeating the British champion, before giving up the IBF title a month afterwards and opting out of facing the mandatory challenger

Belt Timeline
Usyk won the championship in 2021 by beating the British star and went on to successfully defend multiple times
In July, the boxing organization mandated talks for a mandatory defence against temporary title holder Parker, only for a Usyk's physical issue to cause the delay of the fight

But the 30-year-old British fighter, captured the temporary championship from his opponent with a huge upset in the later stages at London's O2 Arena in the previous month and was required to challenge Usyk before the end of September
The boxing organization hasn't formally announced the title change but his manager Warren believes it is a formality
