Christantus Uche Sparks Comfortable Palace Win at Shelbourne.
Despite entering their maiden continental campaign, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Missing star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually secures them a spot in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further victory in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS ought to be enough to secure direct passage to the last 16, especially following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Moment
This match offered a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second game in match.
The Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season proved no match even for a largely rotated Palace outfit. The Londoners were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
