President Trump Calls Loved Ones of Attacked Military Members to the Presidential Residence

President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the family of a Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the presidential home.

He added that he spoke to her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Tragic Event

Specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her comrade, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their memory.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both members of the state National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president told the press. “And likewise with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Public Response

Mourners came together over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of the president’s federal initiative to aid law enforcement in Washington DC.

Honoring the Soldier

“She was the type of pupil that teachers desired. She behaved with quiet strength, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,” Hankins, the leader of her former high school, informed the press. “She was caring, considerate and always willing to help others.”

Memorial details for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Legal Measures and Policy Adjustments

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of first-degree murder and charges of violent assault while armed.

The event prompted the government to halt asylum applications and halt issuing visas to holders of Afghan passports.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a native of the city, started his military career in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey stated on television.

Attorney general Pam Bondi stated on Fox News Sunday that she aimed to visit Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a military police officer with distinction, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had fortitude,” he addressed the audience at the vigil. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
